McKee Barracks, Dublin 7
Heritage restoration scaffolding for a Protected Structure, delivered in partnership with Bourke Builders.
Safe access for a protected historic building
Working in partnership with Bourke Builders, Irish Scaffolding Services delivered heritage restoration scaffolding at McKee Barracks in Dublin 7.
McKee Barracks is a Protected Structure on the Record of Protected Structures. The scaffolding package included a long facade scaffold with independent access towers.
Safe access was provided over historic slate roofs, together with dedicated chimney access platforms and telehandler integration for material handling.
Heritage work requires a careful and sympathetic approach. The scaffold gave the restoration team safe access while protecting the historic fabric of the building throughout.
What the McKee Barracks project included
Heritage Facade Scaffold
A long facade scaffold provided working access across the historic building elevation.
Independent Towers
Independent scaffold towers were erected to reach difficult sections of the protected structure.
Roof & Chimney Access
Safe access was provided over the historic slate roof and around the chimney areas.
Telehandler Integration
The scaffold package allowed for telehandler integration to support material handling on site.
Protecting the building while work progressed
The scaffold was planned to provide practical access for the restoration team without damaging the historic slate, masonry or other important building features.
Complex heritage access may also require engineered scaffold drawings and structural calculations. View our Scaffold Design & Engineering service.
